The Okawa Prize, Okawa Publications Prize and Research Grant Presentation Ceremony was held on October 30, 2019 at ANA InterContinental Tokyo.
Dr. Makoto Nagao (Professor Emeritus and Past President, Kyoto University) and Dr. Martin Kay (Professor Emeritus of Stanford University, Honorary Professor of Saarland University) won the 2019 Okawa Prize for their contributions to research and development of information processing, such as machine translation.

"Succinct Data Structures" (authored by Dr. Kunihiko Sadakane, published by Kyoritsu Shuppan Co., Ltd.) and "Digital Capitalism" (supervised by Mr. Shingo Konomoto, authored by Mr. Takeshi Mori and Mr. Hiroyuki Nitto, published by Toyo Keizai Inc.) received the 2019 Okawa Publications Prize.
