The Okawa Prize, the Okawa Publications Prize and Research Grant Presentation Ceremony was held on March 4, 2026 at ANA InterContinental Tokyo.
The 2025 Okawa Prize was awarded to Dr. Tadashi Watanabe (RIKEN Honorary Researcher) and Dr. Yale N. Patt (Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ernest Cockrell, Jr. Centennial Chair in Engineering, and University Distinguished Teaching Professor, The University of Texas at Austin).

The 2025 Okawa Publications Prize was presented to “Legal Perspectives on the Information Space: Conflicts of Freedom of Expression and New Dimensions of Privacy” (authored by Dr. Rei Higashigawa, published by Kyoto University Press).

21 researchers from Japan, 5 researchers from China and 3 researchers from South Korea received the Okawa Research Grant this year.

With the aim of advancing further development of information technology and promoting international academic and cultural exchanges, the Okawa Foundation will continue the activities of awarding prizes and research grants.
